Paolo Rizzatto’s idea, when he designed this chair, was to create an object that was brand new but looked as if it had always been around. Lord Jim is a folding armchair with multilayer supporting structure and seat and backrest made of leather, cotton fabric or polyester mesh. A piece of design that combines the latest technologies and materials with an evocative image, which takes us back over the long history of chair design, from Paris in the Second Empire through to Scandinavia in the ’50s and the Italy of Rogers and Caccia Dominioni. 64.
Lord Jim
Designed by Paolo Rizzatto in 2000. Folding armchair with supporting frame in varnished or lacquered beech plywood with seat and backrest, in leather, in cotton fabric or in polyester net.
“An object with a timeless style, a minimal exotic elegance, a comfortable original chair that looks as if it has just arrived from a far-off destination, but has always lived in the room next door.”
(Paolo Rizzatto)
